using prescription transfer coupons and/or free antibiotics programs.
Current Printable Prescription Transfer Coupons:

$10 Kmart Gift Card with Prescription Transfer, exp. 1-30-10

$25 Rite Aid Gift Card with Prescription Transfer, exp. 1-31-10
FREE Antibiotics Programs:

Giant Eagle
Giant Food

Meijer
Publix

Schnucks
ShopRite

Stop & Shop
In addition, Kroger, Target, and Walmart all currently have $4 generic
prescriptions programs

Do you know of any other stores offering prescription transfer coupons
or free and cheap prescriptions to add to this list?

CVS often has offers for a free twenty five dollar gift card
with a new or transferred prescription. My CVS takes expired
ones of these but my friends CVS doesn’t. Not sure if they take
competetors?

Dominick’s in store ad had a $30 gift card with Rx transfer
coupon in it! I’m transferring on my next refill, valid through
1/26.

My local Wegmans in NY also offer free antibiotics.

Just a note: I tried the free gift card for prescription
transfers to Target and CVS and it’s not allowed by law in NY
and NJ. Just a heads up for those of you in those states.

meijer also has select FREE prenatal vitamins !!!

Thank you :)

CVS takes competitor’s q’s. I received an offer for the free 25
dollar gift card out of the in store scanner. Just another
reason to scan your card!

Several of my families meds have coupons on the manufacturers
website. This lowers our copay on meds that do not have a
generics available. Ex. Nasonex. Sometimes you can get 4 or 6
months worth of coupons from the mfr just for signing up.
Usually they are around $20 or $25. Worth checking into if you
have a high copay on a med.

Meijers has had 20% off your total grocery and HBC when you get
a new or transferred prescription at their pharmacy. It was not
in this weeks ad but I have seen it several times since before
Christmas. I know it was in last weeks ad(perhaps you may still
have it). I was surprised when they took 20% off every grocery
item even if I had used a mfg coupon and a Meijer Mealbox
coupon. I saved $30 plus all my coupons.

Sometimes when I transfer a prescription from Walgreens, I
notice in a month or two, we will get a $25 check to exchange
for a $25 Walgreens gift card when you get a new or transferred
prescription at their pharmacy. However each family can only use
a check every 6 months. A little confusing but I have found the
pharmacy employees to be very helpful and willing to check in
the computer to find when the last check has been used.

I tried the Target coupon yesterday in NJ and it is only valid
for those 60 and over. I was NOT happy.

In the January 6 Safeway ad in No. CA there was an offer for a
free $30 gift card with a transferred prescription valid until
1/26/10.

Wegmans offers free antibiotics. No coupons needed! We just got
2 today because both my babies have double ear infections :(

Market Street gives free antibiotics and free prenatal
vitimains.

Also my Dr. has given be cards for proventil and symbocort to
use for my RX’s On Proventil it gave me my first fill free then
it is $25.00 off of the next 4 refills (This is in addition to
insurance). I just used the Symbocort one and it gave me my
first fill free, I have 11 refills that it will deduct up to
$25.00 off my copay (what the insurance will pay). I know there
are other similair offers. The drug companies are feeling a
pinch in the ecomony and this is one way they are helping out
the consumer as well as helping their bottom line. Ask your
doctor the next time you are in if he has “free samples or a
card that will help curb your cost”.

I know CVS will honor any competior RX coupon. I used a Market
Street coupon at CVS and they gave me the $25.00 gift card. (I
asked and they accept all RX coupons.
15 Jennifer January 13, 2010 at 7:17 pm

I know that many drug companies have coupons out too. My
prescription for YAZ has a $20 card that I downloaded from the
website. Yaz-us.com.
My doc also gave me a sample when I was last in. Every little
bit helps.
16 Amber January 13, 2010 at 7:24 pm

THANKS! My CVS will take the Target one as a competitor coupon.
17 michelle January 13, 2010 at 7:32 pm

target and k-mart both had a $10 gift card with any new or
transfered prescription in last sundays fliers. i used the
target one today for a new prescription.
18 natalie January 13, 2010 at 8:11 pm

Does anyone know if Hy-vee will take competitors RX coupons.
Like use the Target or Kmart one at Hy-vee?
19 Mommy Kennedy January 13, 2010 at 8:24 pm

Thanks! I’m writing a post with a link back to you now :)
Walgreens also has a Prescription Saving Club with 400 generic
medications.
$12 for a 90-day supply and $9.99 for a 30-day supply.

Happy Couponing!
20 Kelly January 13, 2010 at 8:40 pm

Safeway ads have a 30 DOLLAR coupon sometimes. There was on in
the Arizona ad last week!
21 Corrie @ "Cents"able Momma January 13, 2010 at 10:51 pm

Here’s a list of some of the stores that accept competitor
coupons –
http://www.centsablemomma.com/competitor-prescription-coupon-policies
Many stores will only accept “true” competitor coupons. So if
you don’t have a Rite Aid in your area, they are not likely to
accept a Rite Aid coupon (although you can always try).

Plus, some chains are store specific on accepting competitor
coupons. For example, someone told me that Kroger accepted
competitor coupons, but mine doesn’t. It’s always best to call
and ask before you make a special trip.
22 awisdom January 14, 2010 at 6:30 am

Sam’s Club does the same $4 generic prescription program that
Walmart does. We go there because the lines are shorter than
Walmart. They let us in without a membership if we’re just going
to the pharmacy.
23 Laurie January 14, 2010 at 7:44 am

Thanks for this great information. I had no idea about free
antibiotics programs! Stinks that I just filled my daughter’s
ammoxicillin Rx @ Wag’s for $12+, right next door to Schnuck’s,
where I could have gotten it for FREE! :(
24 melissa January 14, 2010 at 8:09 am

I found some Kroger RX coupons on ebay for 20.00 for
new/transfered Rx. on ebay. expire 1/30/10

Ingles supermarkets has generics for $3.00!
26 Thrifty Jenny January 14, 2010 at 12:16 pm

I was inspired to write a post about how I save on prescription
medications with a link back to the great info here!

27 Kris January 15, 2010 at 8:10 am

CVS takes all competitor RX coupons….and we also have a $9.99
plan for a 90 day supply on certain generics.
28 Jane February 5, 2010 at 6:44 am

Can someone please tell me about the freeantibotics program? How
does it work? My CVS just fills it and charges me
$20.00…..Thanks
29 Tara Kuczykowski February 5, 2010 at 9:42 am

Jane, I don’t believe that CVS had a free antibiotics program.
Do you have any of the other stores I mentioned above near you?
30 chutzler February 5, 2010 at 7:54 pm

I have noticed that the CVS coupons are for new OR transferred
prescriptions but the other stores’ coupons are not worded that
way. So if you just have to get an antibiotic for an ear
infection, would you be able to use the Target or KMart Qs that
say only “transferred” prescription?
Thanks!
