Vendor Notebook - Siemens Healthcare to provide Penn with integrated service management The Axolotl Corp., a San Jose, Calif.-based developer of health information exchange solutions, has announced that the Bronx Regional Health Information Organization (BronxRHIO) will deploy Axolotl’s Elysium Exchange suite of solutions.
Wolters Kluwer Health, a Minneapolis-based provider of information management and business intelligence tools for healthcare providers, has announced that the Summa Health System has selected ProVation MD software for cardiology procedure documentation and coding at its three cardiac catheterization labs at Summa Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio. The QuadraMed Corporation of Reston, Va., has launched its ICD-10 Countdown Program, which includes the Quantim ICD-10 Coding Simulator software, ICD-10 educational tools and services to help healthcare providers prepare for ICD-10 conversion.
GE Healthcare, based in Barrington, Ill., has announced that it will deploy its Centricity Practice for Community Health Centers electronic medical record software at the Hamilton Community Health Network, a 25-physician, six-campus practice serving uninsured and underinsured residents of Flint, Mich. The contract was made possible by a grant of more than $2 million from the Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration, as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, for capital improvements, including the adoption of an EMR. Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) of Dallas has announced a three-year, $4 million agreement with the State of Wyoming to provide software to improve care for Medicaid clients and reduce program costs, including the introduction of an electronic health record and health information exchange for the Wyoming Department of Health.
Imprivata, a Lexington, Mass.-based developer of access management solutions, has unveiled the OneSign FastPass, a one-touch log-in workstation solution designed for organizations that need a strong form of Windows authentication for jobs that require authentication many times a day at different workstations, such as a healthcare setting. In addition, the company has announced the integration of its OneSign platform into the Australian Centre for Health Innovation’s hospital-oriented testbed in Melbourne, Australia. Progress DataDirect, the data infrastructure division of Bedford, Mass.-based Progress Software, has announced the availability of the DataDirect HIPAA/ICD-10 Upgrade Toolkit to help software developers jump-start their HIPAA 4010, 5010 and ICD-10 data conversion projects.
LiveData, Inc., a Cambridge, Mass.-based developer of real-time data integration and display solutions, has been awarded a $730,000 Phase II Small Business Innovation Research grant from the U.S. Army Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center to develop an integrated clinical environment with CIMIT’s Medical device Plug-and-Play (MD PnP) team. Presidio Networked Solutions, Inc., of Greenbelt, Md., will host an exclusive Healthcare Technology Executive Summit on Wednesday, Oct. 15, in partnership with Cisco Systems, Ekahau and Radianta. The event will leverage Cisco’s TelePresence technology to bring together healthcare executives from Boston, Philadelphia, Columbia, Md., Phoenix and San Jose to discuss using collaboration technologies for more effective patient engagement.
Merge Healthcare, a Milwaukee-based developer of healthcare data and diagnostic workflow solutions, has added three Biotronics3D applications to its eFilm eCommerce channel: Diagnostic 3D, Vessel Review and Colon Review. eWebHealth, Inc., has announced the availability of its new, fully hosted .NET platform, which supports the company’s aWebHIM suite of solutions.
First Databank, a San Francisco-based provider of integrated drug databases for the healthcare industry, has announced that it will join the Health 2.0 Accelerator consortium, In addition, the company is partnering with PharmaSURVEYOR to launch a pilot project for direct online access to the company’s proprietary drug information and standardized drug codes, to be called the Drug Code Lookup Service. First National Merchant Solutions, based in Omaha, Neb., has launched First Paid Healthcare Solutions, a suite of products designed to help speed up the payment process, eliminate confusion and pare and cut costs for healthcare providers.
