ESDU Recent News image image image image OECS Project to Generate New Job Opportunities for Communities near two Forests in Grenada Wednesday, 10 March 2010 14:08 (OECS Secretariat, Castries, St Lucia) The OECS Secretariat will next Wednesday (March 17th) launch the fourth in a series of community projects in the district of Willis, on the north east of St George’s Grenada. The project is expected to provide new job opportunities for persons living near the Annandale and Grand Etang Forest Reserves – two protected areas, supported by the OECS Protected Areas and Associated Livelihoods (OPAAL) Project. Readmore button text OECS Launches Environmental and Socioeconomic Study in Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia Friday, 05 February 2010 11:52 (OECS Secretariat, Castries, Saint Lucia) The Secretariat of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States is conducting a study of the natural, social, economic and physical attributes of the Pointe Sable Environmental Protection Area (PSEPA), a protected area located in Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia. The site study, which commenced in late January 2010, is being undertaken by CEPro Consultants Limited – a Saint Lucia based firm. The consultants are expected to complete their work in three months.
